The Gravol Fog Lifts…

I’m just going to give a follow up, since this should’ve been my post for last week but I ended up slacking off.  So…

First: an update to some events the last little while:

1) Finished with my course of antibiotics, but DAMN did they make me feel nauseated! I believe I must have a slight sensitivity to penicillins because I have never been so nauseated nor lacking in appetite until now. For 2 weeks.

Well, good thing is: it was a fairly effective diet. Bad thing is that I couldn’t make it to the gym, nor function in any sort of comprehensive level.

Case in Point: I was working at the hospital the other day; shift started at noon, but for some reason, I couldn’t shake the mental fog I’d been travelling in for the last 2 weeks. Long story short, I had to concentrate extra hard to ensure I wasn’t going to kill anyone by making stupid mistakes on shift. I only had to work 4 hours, so I went in for the shift anyway.

Here’s where it gets quirky: anyone else who would have an off day wouldn’t have a hard time going to work anyway; most of the time, all it effects is productivity.

With my situation (and certain other professions), you’re not allowed to have an off-day. Because when you do, you’re putting people’s lives at risk.  Pilots, surgeons… we’ve all heard the stories where the wrong limb was amputated.

Long story short:  don’t go to work if you think you’re going to kill someone.
